The seller:
This is an original watercolor by famed French artist Raoul Dufy. Dufy is one of the greatest French artists of the 20th century.

artfakes.dk:
$49.99 seems a very low price for a watercolour by "one of the greatest French artists of the 20th century"?

But the painting is not a bad one.

This is not a Modigliani; it’s probably a work by Eric I. Spoutz, possible a portrait of his father-in-law

The seller, Mr. Eric I. Spoutz, Detroit:
Attributed Amadeo Modigliani.
History of ownership: The artist's own collection

artfakes.dk:
Why sell it attributed Modigliani, when the painting comes from Modigliani's own collection?

YOU ARE A SWINDLER, MR. SPOUTZ!

The late Gerrit Henry never attributed Modigliani this painting. An art expert never attributes a signed painting.

This is not a Matisse; it’s probably an infant school work by Eric I. Spoutz, possible a self-portrait

The art swindler, Mr. Eric I. Spoutz:
Gerrit Henry graduated from Columbia University in 1972, where he studied with Kenneth Koch. While still an undergraduate, he was recruited by John Ashbery to write reviews for Art News, of which he eventually became a contributing editor. Over the years, he published criticism in Art International Arts Magazine, Art on Paper, the Village Voice, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, People, After Dark, the London Spectator, Zing and the New Republic.

This is a child’s work by the age of ten. We suggest Mr. Spoutz to be the person behind this work. Could be a self-portrait?

You are a CRIMINAL, Mr. Spoutz!

The seller:
This colorful speculative painting, is on a lovely cream wove paper. It is painted in body-color with pastel, the condition of the picture is excellent.
Unfortunately it has no provenance or history, it came from an auction runner. who purchased it from a house clearance in Kent, I am therefore offering the piece as attributed to Picasso on the grounds of style and content.

artfakes.dk:
A signed painting can never be attributed.
A signed painting is either genuine or it's a fake.
And this painting is NOT genuine.
